The Medifast diet is a program that can help people to lose weight faster and more effectively as opposed to traditional diet plans. The meals are wrapped in individual packets that you simply mix with water and refrigerate or microwave. The packets act as a meal and each portion is nutritionally balanced, low fat and a clinically proven program.
The 5 & 1 Plan
The diet program is called the 5 & 1 plan. With this program, you will eat 5 Medifast Meals and 1 lean and green meal a day. There are over 60 Medifast Meals to choose from on their menu with a wide variety, such as puddings, scrambled eggs, oatmeal, soups, shakes, stew, chili, and hot drinks. These are just a few choices on the menu. Your Lean and Green meal will consist of a balance of lean protein such as chicken, fish or beef and vegetables, which you'll prepare yourself. This has to be eaten on a daily basis as part of the program.
Medifast 5 & 1 program has been medically designed to create a calorie deficit, this will then allow your body to burn fat for energy. All the meals are nutritionally balanced with the combination of carbohydrates and protein. This allows you to lose weight and maintain your lean muscle mass.
Meals
It is clinically proven that weight loss through using the Medifast Meals creates a healthy gap from the calories you take in to the amount your body burns. This promotes a natural and effective weight loss. This program is effective for anyone wishing to lose weight fast, providing instructions are followed. Medifast Meals fit into a hectic lifestyle because they are quick and easy to prepare, and still part of a healthy diet plan.
There have been studies to indicate that the average weight loss per week is between 2-5lbs with this diet. You may, after a couple of weeks, notice the difference round your waistline, maybe a pair of trousers, or skirt doesn't feel as tight fitting. Everybody is different and some people lose weight faster than others. How little or often you do exercise while on the program will also make a huge difference. Medifast would advise that before starting the program, as with any diet, you consult your doctor or physician.
Consult Your Doctor First
Medifast diet is a great way to lose weight fast, providing you follow all the appropriate information, and as said before, consult your doctor to make sure this diet is suitable for you, especially if you are on any medications or have any health problems.
